Car: Year Two Reductions
I know I said I would try to consolidate these entries, but I know how much everyone likes to hear about my detailed vehicle-related record-keeping. I won't bore you with the details, (and have I got details!), but suffice to say I have been successful in reducing my mileage driven this year. I have about 99,050 miles on the car right now, for a total of 11,200 miles, or 76% of last year's 14,600 miles. Reducing my miles by a quarter wasn't too hard, I just put some thought into my trips and used alternates when possible. If everyone did that, imagine the difference we could make!

that's really impressive! i am so glad that you are offsetting the damage that my long-distance relationship did to the environment last year. 35,000 miles on my car in a year and a half. (driving seattle-eugene-seattle every other weekend) but! i am moving on march 13, and hopefully my driving will drop to almost nothing. maybe that will atone for my driving sins.
i think another solution is that we all start driving efficient scooters instead.

Yes, scooters could be great for around town. Not something I'd want to take from Seattle to Eugene fortnightly, though! It is too bad that the train didn't work out better for you.
