A Laborious Day
I didn't think you were actually supposed to labor much on Labor day, but that's what ended up happening this past weekend. I started the weekend off with 2 night s at camp, which were failry uneventful but for the fact that they moved albatross cabin a fair ways across camp. I did enjoy that my precious little niece was there... she is growing much too fast, though.
On Sunday I drove to Portland and hopped a train down to Eugene City to meet up with lauren so I could help her move. Or try to help anyway. On Monday morning we picked up the truck and started. I understand that moving is a stressful time, but... let's just say there were some difficulties. We actually got out of town at a fairly decent time, considering.
After a brief stop in Portland, we continued north, arriving in Seattle as dark fell, thanks in part to cooperative express lanes. Driving in Seattle is kind of a pain in the best of circumstances; driving around in a big, long moving truck was far from my idea of a good time. Eventually we were able to wrangle the truck somewhere where we could unload it. Lauren's roommate Shannon was there to help, and despite some difficulties we eventually got everything up to their new digs before 1:00 am.
The next day I kinda bummed around campus with lauren, having lunch with Shannon and her pal Noella. In the afternoon we dropped off the truck and headed downtown, having a late lunch/early dinner at Pike Place Market before I had to baord another train, this time back to Portland. Strangely enough, I had only ever ridden the train between Eugene and Portland, so this was a new and exciting trip for me. The next morning I headed out for TIllamook by way of the new Krispy Kreme, which made my co-workers v. happy!

It'd be nice if you'd organize the albatross pictures - you know, a web page with thumbnails n' stuff.
