Your Pal Bill

Independence Day

On this 4th of July I celebrated our country's 227th birthday by going to a lot of places. hooray!

We started with the traditional trip to the cabin. by way of lunch at Calamity Jane's. Brent was along, which was a surprise, seeing as he lives in the UK and all. Next I headed back to Portland and spent the late afternoon at my pal Deana's house with some of her pals. I was the only one of our people to show up, but it was quiet and pleasant all the same.

I went back to Beaverton before it became dark, and headed up the street from my parents' house, to Erica & Jon's house, where I witnessed the neighbors' excesses in the matter of setting off highly illegal fireworks. By this, I mean that these people purchased, and set off thousands of dollars worth of fireworks, enough for a small-town firework show. Seriously, this must have been a major investment on these people's parts. Erica & Jon pulled up and we noticed that some of their barkdust was on fire. So Erica wasn't really pleased about the whole affair. But.. it was pretty! and noisy! oooh, and sparkly!
