New Computer
On Friday afternoon, I finally recieved my long-promised new computer at work. My old computer was such a dog, and now I have one of the best machines in the building. It is set up so I can work on a lot of map data, but so far I've just been growing into it, getting the settings right, adding the little necessary apps, etc.
- Windows 2000: This is the first time I've used this OS extensively. It is still windows, but it hasn't crashed- yet.
- Mozilla 1.3: I had been useg pre-1.0 versions for the last year or so. I'm not sure why, the current version is awesome so far. Much faster (it isn't all the machine, I'm sure) and just better put together. Why didn't I change sooner?
- NewsDesk: I've been hearing about these RSS readers all over the place, so I decided to try one out. It is okay so far. Now I know what people are complaining about when they talk about putting full articles in feeds rather than just excerpts. I may change mine over, although I doubt anyone looks at them but me.
Neeeerrrd!

What exactly is RSS?

"Rich Site Summary." It comes in several formats, but basically the way it is used is as a machine-readable format for displaying the recent contents of one's website, whether it be the entire contents or partial contents. I am subscribed to trevstac and free4all feeds right now. :)

Congratulations on your new baby boy, Bill.
And several years from now :) when you have free time, please let me know what I can do to improve NewsDesk.
