Well, I ended up having a great weekend. On Sunday went to dinner with Jeff, Jennifer, Erica and John. Then the next day Jeff took John and I down to the Portland Police shooting range, where we had the opportunity to fire 50 rounds from a 9mm Glock handgun. I am a fairly good shot with a rifle and shotgun, so I even though I had never fired a handgun before, I did okay.

That evening we picked up Lauren and went up to the cabin. We had fireworks that night. On the 4th we slept in then went up to Timberline Lodge. Unfortunately it was foggy and wet up there, so there wasn't much of a view. That night Lauren, Jeff, Jennifer and I went to see the fireworks on the Willamette River in downtown Portland. By that time the weather had turned much nicer. It was a very nice evening.

The next day my Mom took me down to Union Station to get back to Eugene. Unfortunately traffic made us pretty late and the bus was overbooked. So Lauren and I made arrangements to take the next train. We went home, them my Mom took us to Beaverton Transit Center to catch the MAX downtown. We were thwarted when somebody knocked a pole over the MAX catenary lines, disrupting service. We had to take a shuttle to Sunset Transit Center, then wait until MAX kind of got rolling again. By the time we ended up back at Union Station, we were an hour late for the train. So we booked ourselves on the NEXT bus, then poked around downtown for a while, returning in plenty of time to make the bus departure.
